Design by DuBois | FAQ

Design by DuBois is an Atlanta-based interior design firm specializing in multifamily and commercial renovations and FF&E procurement, serving clients in more than 15 states. Reach us at info@design-by-dubois.com if you can't find an answer below.

Design by DuBois is a boutique, full-service interior design firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. We specialize in multifamily and commercial interior renovations, model unit and amenity design, and FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) procurement for property owners and developers nationwide.

We work nationwide and have completed projects in more than 15 states. Our studio is in Atlanta, and we regularly design multifamily and commercial spaces across the country.

We primarily work with multifamily property owners, developers, and management companies, along with commercial clients. Our work typically involves property renovations, clubhouses, leasing offices, amenity spaces, model units, exteriors, and outdoor amenity spaces.

FF&E stands for furniture, fixtures, and equipment. As part of our full-service work, Design by DuBois sources, specifies, purchases, and manages delivery and installation of all furnishings, so clients receive a turnkey, install-ready space.

Contact us at info@design-by-dubois.com to schedule an initial consultation. In that meeting we discuss your goals, budget, timeline, and design needs, then outline next steps.

Yes. We help owners reposition and rebrand properties with refreshed interiors targeted to the property's demographic, highlighting current amenities and design trends while keeping the project on schedule and on budget.

Fees depend on the scope and complexity of the project. We typically work on a flat design fee or a percentage of total project cost, and we also offer hourly rates depending on the scope.

Our process typically moves through five phases: initial consultation, design concept, design development (floor plans, elevations, and material and FF&E selections), procurement and construction oversight, and final installation and walkthrough.

Timelines depend on the scope and phasing of the project. We map out a realistic schedule with you at the start and manage the work to keep it on track from concept through installation.

That's up to you. Some clients are involved in every selection; others delegate day-to-day decisions to our team once the initial direction is set. We adapt to each client's preference.

Yes, though most of our projects center on new furnishings and finishes. When existing pieces fit the design vision and are in good condition, we're glad to incorporate them; where they don't, we recommend replacements that elevate the overall space.

Yes. We establish the budget with you from the start so everyone is aligned, then plan selections, sourcing, and phasing to work within it.

We use various techniques to understand our clients' preferences and tastes, such as mood boards, design questionnaires, and style quizzes. We may also ask clients to share inspiration images or photos of spaces they admire.

As interior designers, we can work within a client's budget by selecting materials and furniture that fit within the client's financial constraints. We may also suggest cost-saving alternatives or phased approaches to the project to help keep costs under control.
